Assessment

Several time during the process, student have to evaluate their own work, their group-mates' work and the project itself. They are asked to talk about their learning process, the problems they had during the work, their experiences.

1
First, they had to assess themselves between the two parts of the work: after the historical research, just before the making of interviews. It is important to look back at the work partly completed and correct some mistakes, if there were. This first evaluation is a short assessment of the collaboration.

2.
After the interview, students had to look back at their progress. They were asked some questions about their knowledge building: how they evaluate their own knowledge, whether they can see a difference between their starting and closing knowledge about cafés.

3.
At the end of the process they also perform self-estimation assessing the work of their own and their group-mates, completed by some constructive criticism concerning the project itself.
These are the questions they had to answer:

4.
Finally the grading of students' work process contained self-assessment, mutual assessment and teacher's evaluation. All was put together in a table:

5.
At the end of the project students could assess the ICT tools they had used. They were asked whether certains tools had been more useful, difficult or interesting than others.Theirs answers were evaluated on diagrams. So we could draw conclusions about the ICT tools we would like to use in the future too.

Were they difficult to use?

Were they useful?

Which ones would you use again?
